邦訳はわざわざ”彼”と訳したのかな？ と思ったのですが、
そうでもなさそうだし、
原著で大筋は理解出来ているので、半分ぐらい読んだのですが、投げます。

冒頭の
”歴代米国政権は、海外での民主主義の拡大を推進しています。
この政策は、国内でも適用されるべきでしょうか？”
”私には彼らの頭の中はわからないが、・・・”
と紹介されているのですが、
原文は、
Clinton's National Security Advisor, Anthony Lake,
is encouraging the enlargement of democracy overseas.
Should he extend that to the US?
I can't tell you what Anthony Lake has in mind,
となっている。
なぜ”Clinton's National Security Advisor, Anthony Lake”を”歴代米国政権”と訳したのか？
すぐ後に出てくる”Reagan Administration"は”レーガン政権”と訳しているのにもかかわらず、である。
何か意図があるのではないか？
気になるので、図書館で借りてこようと思います。

”Norman Mailer, Why Are We at War?” ★★★★☆
結構難しかったですが、それなりに読めました。
特にDemocracyとFreedomに関する見解には唸らされました。
”Noam Chomsky, Secrets, Lies and Democracy”と合わせて読むと面白いです。
democracy is noble, it is always endangered. Nobility, in deed, is always in danger. Democracy is perishable. I think the natural goverment for most people, given the urglier depths of human nature, is facism. Facism is more of a natural state than democracy.

I have had great freedoms here in America, and I don't want to see them lost to the people who come after me. But I repeat: Freedom is as delicate as democracy. It has to be kept alive every day of our existence. So, Yes, I do love this country. If our democracy is noblest experiment in the history of civilization, it may also be the most singularly vulnerable one.

民主党であろうが共和党であろうが、
アメリカの政策というのは企業（ビジネス）と一体的に動いていると
教えてくれる一冊です。
”デモクラシーって何なんだろう”と考えさせられした。
それにしてもチョムスキーはすごいです。
分からない所も多々ありましたが、読んで良かった１册です。

”Noam Chomsky, Secrets, Lies and Democracy”
なんとも魅力的なタイトルだなあと言うわけで読み始めました。
通勤時に”薄くて軽い”ものはなかなかいいです。
分からない言葉を結構ありますが、ニュースを聴いているせいか、
なんとなく分かりますね。読んでいるうちにもっと鮮明になってくるでしょう。
とにかく読む。それが大事です。
